इनविटेशन choices

If you've already chosen the church or temple or wedding location as well as the reception location you are now ready to go forth and look at some invitations. This sounds relatively easy, but for many brides it becomes a daunting task. You may want to go online to take a look at all the choices that are offered to you,and even send off (for a small fee )and get some samples sent to you,or perhaps contact a custom designer, which is what I do,to inquire about all the options available. After you have looked, possibly for days on end,you are ready to make a trip to your local stationery store(incidently,it's stationEry not stationAry) (it is also vellum, not velum)Pick a high end store even though your budget doesn't allow for such extravagance. Why? Because they will carry a wide range of books, over 20 in general, and hopefully they will have personnel that know what type of invitations are hiding in those books. We pay for all of the books we carry,so choose a store that is serious about doing invitations, and has the staff who will advise you on proper wording as well as etiquette. Do not go off to a party store that has only four or five invitation books that traditionally are low end. You won't get a real overview of just what is offered. The best books like Cranes and Wm.Arthur or Encore or Elite will offer all kinds of invitations that you can look over and take ideas from. That's the first thing. Consider what type of envelopes go with the invitations. Most high end or medium priced invitation books have envelopes that are comparable in quality. The less expensive books seriously glue down the envelopes so you can't really see what quality they are. Then you must consider the printing once you've chosen the format. There are many to choose from. Letterpress these days is one of the most desired printing methods, but it is expensive. Offset is the least expensive and still looks nice with the right font. These days there are quite a variety of paper colours and fonts to choose from and they all are correct in general. Inks come in a wide variety of colours as well. There are even companies, particulary Encore and other major companies who offer to print your envelopes to match the font on your invitations. There are many other considerations that will follow in subsequent blogs.
